Rules

1. Age
All applicants must be 18 or older. There will be material in-game involving sexual situations and violence. Sorry if you are under 18 and believe you're mature enough to handle it but we're just trying to cover everyone's butts here.

Because of this age restiction, we ask that all posts involving sexual content be friend locked so that anyone underage can not see them.

2. Characters
We are an original character rp. This means that the game is made up of characters of our players making.

Characters can be any age. It's a town setting and we need characters of all ages to make it work. You can make a teenager sure, but if all we get is teenagers, or all you make is teenagers, we'll ban anymore teenagers from being made until some older characters come into play. All teenagers under 18 must have a guardian or relative they live with whether it be an NPC or another character.

Races of all types are allowed here, some more power than others. If we feel that we have too many of one type of race, we'll cap the number for the time being and not allow anymore to be made until there is a lesser number of them. See the Wanted/Restricted list for what races have meet their cap.

You must have a journal for each of your characters. Don't have them share your journal or another RP journal because this causes confusion. Journal names must reflect your character in some way. Race, hobby, personality, and so on.

Currently there is a cap on the number of characters you can have, set at ten maximum. However, if we see that one of your characters is being neglected we still reserve the right to not allow you to apply for another character, until we see that you can truly handle it. All new characters must be applied for the same way; minus the writing samples if you are already a player.

Stick to your own character. Unless someone gives you permission you are not to use another person's character. No killing them, doing actions, or speaking for them.

3. Posting
You must post with one of your characters every two weeks. All characters have to see some action, other a scene, journal entry, or solo scene, once a month. If we don't see any activity from you and don't have a hiatus notice from you, you'll be given a warning. If still nothing after that you will be contacted to see if you still want to be in the rp. A week after the contact and we hear nothing from you, the mods shall remove your character(s) from the game how we see fit.

If a character fall inactive after a month, you will get a warning and will have two weeks to correct that characters activity. After that time if we have still not seen any activity you will have a week to remove the character or the mods will do it for you.

Activity checks will happen randomly. Players/characters on hiatus do not count in an activity check.

Use of character journals is encouraged! They can be used as personal, handwritten journals, or as online journals that other characters can comment on. Journal entries should be in first person. If using their journal as an online one and you wish for other characters not to read it, please tag it as private.

All scenes are to be written out in third person. No *runs* ::hugs:: or other things of the sort are allowed in scenes. All things must be written out, just as if you were writing a story for English class.

Please avoid as many spelling mistakes and typos as possible. There's such a thing as spell check. Use it. Type in a story form (grammar, spaces were needed, all that good stuff).

If there is all ready a topic active for a certain thing do not start a new one for this clutters things up. Avoid "studder" posting. Studder posting are multiple posts with little information in them, which occur before anyone else has the chance to further the plot.

All sexual content needs to be put behind a cut with a warning. If it happens in a thread later on then place a warning on the beginning entry. People want to know what they're reading. Don't shock them with the sex if they don't want to be. All types of relationships (straight, guy, bi, threesomes, etc) are welcome but if they become all you seem to play out or what your plot consist of then you will be warned once, followed by being kicked out if the problem consist. Sex is good and all but don't make it the main thing.

4. Players/Mods
You must respect your fellow players and your mods. On top of this respect your fellow players characters and do not god mod them. Mods aren't responsible for what occurs in every thread on the community. If something happens that upsets others, or is against the rules bring it to their attention so it can be dealt with.

Do not turn IC drama into OCC drama. If you have a problem with another player, try and work it out. If there is still a problem, contact a mod.

If you are going to be away from the game for a length of time, you need to contact a mod or put a hiatus notice up in the OOC community. Even if you contact a mod, we'd still like you to put a notice up so anyone who is in a plot or storyline with you will know. All hiatuses will last for two weeks if you do not specify a time when you'll be back. If we do not hear from you after your hiatus is up, we will assume you MIA and remove you from the game. If after the time runs out and you need longer, you must contact us and let us know you're still interested in the game but need more time.

5. Communites
The main community mysteria_rpg is to be used for posting tag scenes, logs, and other character related things. Personal character entries belong in their journals. All OOC stuff should be posted in mysteria_ooc and mods posts will be friends locked. m_countyrecords is a community for the mods to keep try of bios and is a search database through the use of tags for all. Feel free to friend this community. mysteria_online is a community for the characters of Mysteria to shoot the breeze through the internet.
